Synopsis:
Living in Los Angeles, Doug is a loser by choice. Why bother trying when all the men in your family have died by their thirty third birthday. Without fail each of them has died performing a selfless act that has someone influenced the world for the better.
Determined to break the curse, he has bunkered down in his apartment to ride out his birthday on December 25th. Meanwhile an excavation led by Mary, an attractive archeologist, at Oak Island off the coast of Novia Scotia has just unearthed the famed Holy Grail which reveals him to be the only living direct descendant of Jesus Christ.
The discovery sets off an international hunt by every major super power and a shady televangelist named Reverend Reggie. Who ever controls Doug, controls the entire Christian population of the world!
With time at a premium, the Vatican calls in a favor from mob boss Johnny Two Thumbs, who is vacationing with his family in nearby Disneyland. AARP, The Office of Antiquities and Acquisitions Restoration, sends its lead agent Robert Drees.
Arriving minutes ahead of the others, Mary helps Doug escape and accompanies him on an a surreal adventure. When all is said and done, Doug must face his destiny and play his role in this dark comedy.
